AAP leaders to continue protest against Arvind Kejriwal arrest on April 7

Arvind Kejriwal was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate last month in connection with the GST policy case

New Delhi:

Aam Aadmi Party leader Gopal Rai today said that party leaders will observe a fast at Jantar Mantar on April 7 to protest against the arrest of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.

Addressing a press conference, Rai, who is also a cabinet minister in the Kejriwal government, called for a nationwide fast against the arrest of the party’s national convener.

“If you are against the arrest of the Delhi chief minister, you can fast on April 7. You can hold a collective fast anywhere – at home, in your city, anywhere,” he said.

Rai said the arrest of the party’s top leadership was aimed at “ending AAP”.

“On April 7, Delhi government ministers, AAP MPs, MLAs, MLAs and officials will observe fast at Jantar Mantar. It will be an open event where student organizations, farmer groups, businessmen can come and participate,” He said.

Arvind Kejriwal was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate last month in a money laundering case related to the GST policy. He has been remanded in judicial custody till April 15.
