A new Banksy mural in north London has been defaced after it appeared just days ago.

The giant green painting was first spotted on the side of a block of flats in Hornsey Road, near Finsbury Park, on Sunday.

One day later, the anonymous artist Confirmed that he is behind the project.

But photos show white paint was poured over the mural just three days after it first appeared.

There appear to be two stripes on a green patch on the side of the building, intended to replicate the missing leaves on a nearby pruned tree.

This isn’t the first time Banksy’s artwork has been defaced His ‘spray’ mural in Suffolk is covered in white paint August 2021.

East suffolk The city council said at the time it was “shocked” by the vandalism, adding that a security guard had caught those responsible and prevented them from causing further damage.

Banksy’s last confirmed work in front of the Finsbury Park tree was a stop sign in South Peckham Londonthree military drones were trapped on it and shared just before Christmas.

However, the work was deleted less than an hour after it was confirmed as authentic on the artist’s social media, witnesses said It was removed by a man with bolt cutters.

Two men were later arrested on suspicion of theft and criminal damage.

Sky News has contacted Islington Council for comment on the vandalism at Finsbury Park.
