4-year-old girl bitten to death by stray dog ​​in UP

A four-year-old girl died after being attacked by a stray dog ​​near Deoria in Uttar Pradesh on Saturday, police said.

They added that the girl’s mutilated body belonged to a nomadic family and had been detained by police and sent for autopsy.

SHO Vedprakash Sharma said the incident took place near Amethi Mata temple within the limits of Kotwali police station.

According to the SHO, one Shankar was living with his family in a makeshift hut near the temple for the past few months.

He said that on Saturday morning, when Shankar and other family members were out begging or looking for work, stray dogs attacked their daughter who was stalking them.

He added that by the time people drove the dog away, the girl had been seriously injured and died on the spot.

The SHO said that the police are taking necessary action in this regard.
