38-year-old trader shot dead while sleeping in Dhaba parking lot in Haryana

Unidentified assailants opened fire on Haryana businessmen in Dhaba, Murtar

A businessman in Haryana was dragged out and shot dead by unidentified men while sleeping in his SUV at a dhaba parking lot on Sunday morning, just weeks after an INLD leader was ambushed in his SUV Killed by unidentified gunman.

The current incident was reported at 8:30 am from Gulshan Darbha in Muttal, Haryana.

The deceased has been identified as Sunder Malik, a liquor trader from Saragthal village in Gohana. He is 38 years old.

CCTV footage shows the businessman, wearing an orange hoodie and pants, stumbling out of the SUV as the two attackers continued to fire.

As seen in the video, the businessman tried to break free, lunging and pushing one of the attackers to the ground while the other gunman continued to shoot at him.

The video shows the attacker freeing himself from the businessman and another gunman continuing to shoot until the man could no longer fight back.

The owner of the dhaba called the police.

Around 35 bullets were fired, police said, adding that eight teams have been formed and are searching for the accused.

Police officer Gaurav Rajpurohit said: “The police received information over the phone and when they reached the spot, they found that around 30 to 35 rounds had been fired.”

Investigators said further action will be based on interviews with family members.

Police said they could not yet confirm whether there was gang conflict.

On February 26, Nafe Singh Rathi, chairman of Haryana unit of Indian National Lok Dal, was shot dead by unidentified gunmen when his SUV was ambushed in Jhajar area.
