33% Rajya Sabha MPs have declared criminal cases: Report

According to electoral rights body ADR, 33 per cent of the 225 Rajya Sabha members analyzed have declared criminal cases against themselves, while the total assets of these sitting MPs stood at Rs 19,602 crore.

Also, 31 of them i.e. 14 percent are billionaires.

In an analysis conducted by the Association for Democratic Reforms and National Election Watch (NEW), two Rajya Sabha members have declared cases related to murder under section 302 of the IPC, while four MPs have been booked for attempt to murder under section 307 of the IPC.
