New Delhi:

Delhi police on Thursday arrested two people and arrested three teenagers for brandishing knives and carrying beer bottles while riding motorcycles on the streets of southwest Delhi, officials said.

Police said the matter came to attention when video footage of the incident appeared on social media.

In a 28-second video clip, they are seen sitting on a moving motorcycle without helmets, holding beer bottles and brandishing knives at other commuters.

A police officer said a passerby recorded a video of the act near Safdarjung Hospital and posted it on X.

Deputy Commissioner of Police South West Rohit Meena said the police took “suo motu” action on user X’s post and launched a manhunt for the accused.

Meena said the defendant was charged under Sections 279 (rash driving) and 336 (act endangering life or personal safety of others) of the Indian Penal Code and Sections 3/181, 5/184, 128/129 of the Motor Vehicles Act. File a case. and the provisions of the Arms Act at Safdarjung Enclave Police Station.

Another police officer said that after taking ownership of the motorcycle, a raid was conducted at Shriram camp in Nanakpura, following which two men – Akash (21) and Karan – were arrested ) (20 years old) and arrested three teenagers.
