YouTuber arrested for performing stunts on Delhi flyover and burning police barricades

New Delhi:

A 25-year-old YouTuber and Instagram star has been arrested for performing stunts in his SUV on a busy flyover and setting fire to a police barricade for a video he made on social media, officials said on Saturday.

The Delhi Police also fined him Rs 36,000 for violating traffic rules and regulations and impounded the vehicle at Paschim Vihar East police station under Sections 39/112 MV Act, 100.2/177 MV Act, 184MV Act.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (external) Jimmy Chiram said: “The YouTube user named Pradeep Dhaka is a resident of Chajju Ram Colony in Nangloi. He was arrested at his home.”

He said that information about a serious traffic violation of a modified car (gold) was received through social media platform Roads are blocked, causing severe traffic congestion.

Another police officer said a video was also found on X in which the same man could be seen setting the police barricades on fire after coating them with chemicals.

A team of outside district police was sent to identify him and take appropriate action against him, the officer said.

After scanning his profiles on social media accounts, it was discovered that Dhaka was a YouTube content uploader and had created the videos for making reels and uploading them. But he violated traffic rules and damaged government property, the official added.

Police said fake plastic weapons were also found in his car.

The officer said a case in Dhaka has been registered at the Nihal Vihar police station as the second video of him burning the roadblock was shot in the area.
