South Africa on Tuesday announced a 15-man squad for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 to be played in the United States and West Indies from June 1-29, with Aiden Markram leading the side. This will be Markram’s first World Cup assignment after being named T20I captain. The team includes experienced batsmen Quinton de Kock, Reeza Hendricks, Heinrich Klaasen, David Miller and promising Tristan Stubbs. Additionally, the squad also includes two uncapped T20I players; Wicketkeeper batsman Ryan Rickelton and fast bowler Otniel Bartman.

Rickelton finished as the leading run-scorer of the second edition of the SA20 with 530 runs at an average of 58.88 for MI Cape Town, while Bartman took 18 wickets in eight matches for defending champions Sunrisers Eastern Cape and currently the Indian Premier League side. Kagiso Rabada and Anrich Nortje will lead the fast bowling attack. He will be supported by Marco Jensen and Gerald Coetzee.
