Elon Musk-owned social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, on Thursday expanded its Community Notes contributor positions to India. Community Notes officially launched in November 2022, but at launch, moderators were selected from only a handful of countries. Interestingly, before November 2022, Community Notes was called Birdwatch. Birdwatch launched in 2020 as a moderation tool to identify and debunk misinformation and propaganda.
