X Corp, formerly known as Twitter, said on Saturday it was “compelled by a court decision” to block certain popular accounts in Brazil and barred from revealing details of the order.

X owner Elon Musk said in a post on the platform that the order could result in a total loss of revenue and the closure of the Brazilian office, promising that he would challenge it through legal means if possible.

The social media company said it did not know why the blocking order was issued and was prohibited from providing details of affected accounts, adding that it faced the threat of daily fines if it did not comply.

Last year, Moraes also ordered investigations into executives at social messaging platform Telegram and Alphabet’s Google who were responsible for criticizing a proposed internet regulation bill.
