‘Won’t leave Chhindwara’: Kamal Nath amid hubbub in Jabalpur seat

Chhindwara (Madhya Pradesh):

Congress leader and former Madhya Pradesh chief minister Kamal Nath on Monday ruled out contesting the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, saying “he will not leave Chindwar under any circumstances” pull”.

Speaking to news agency ANI, Mr Nath said, “I have no plans to contest from Jabalpur. I will not leave Chhindwara under any circumstances.”

Mr. Nath has been elected nine times from the Chhindwara Lok Sabha seat.

When asked about several leaders leaving the Congress to join the BJP, he said: “If Suresh Pachauri leaves the Congress to join the BJP, that is his wish. He (Deepak) Joshi) is just from there (BJP).”

Earlier on March 5, Kamal Nath said that the Congress party will win at least 12 to 13 seats in the state’s 29 assembly constituencies in the upcoming general elections.

The veteran Congress leader also quashed rumors that he might join the BJP.

The former federal minister said he has maintained good relations with the people of the region over the past 45 years.

“I have dedicated my life to Chhindwara. Today Chhindwara has an identity. Anyone from Chhindwara, wherever he goes, can proudly say that he is from Chhindwara .”

The Chhindwara Lok Sabha seat is currently represented by Kamal Nath’s son Nakul Nath.
