Police (representatives) said further investigation is ongoing

Kolkata:

Police on Tuesday discovered the decomposed body of an unidentified woman inside an abandoned building in the city’s Wagong area, an official said.

He said the body parts were found in three black plastic bags at the building located in Sastithala Lane.

DC (Ports) Harikrishna Rai said, “Locals who entered the building found the plastic bag and informed the police.”

Officers from the Kolkata Police’s Homicide Bureau also visited the spot with sniffer dogs.

“It appears that the woman was murdered somewhere else and the body was put in plastic bags and dumped at different places. We are trying to identify her,” he said.

Police said further investigations were underway to determine the location of other body parts.
