Woman's body found in Delhi wardrobe, police suspect live-in partner

New Delhi:

The body of a 26-year-old woman was found in a wardrobe in a house in southwest Delhi’s Dwarka area and her father suspects her live-in partner to be behind the murder, police said on Thursday.

The matter came to light on Wednesday after the victim’s father was unable to contact her for several days and approached police for help.

According to police, a team from Dhabri police station rushed to Dwarkarajapuri area after receiving a PCR call at 10.40 pm on Wednesday in which one of the callers claimed that his daughter might have been killed of the above-mentioned house.

“After entering the apartment, the woman’s body was found in the wardrobe of the room. The crime team and FSL examined the crime scene,” a senior police officer said.

Police said the victim’s father, who was present at the scene, claimed the woman was killed by her live-in partner Vipal Taylor.

Citing his last phone call with the woman, the complainant told police she told him her partner Vipal Tailor regularly beat her and she feared she might be murdered.

He also told police that his daughter had been living in a rented apartment with Taylor for the past month and a half.

The police officer said that the body has been shifted to the DDU Hospital mortuary for post-mortem examination.

“Efforts are on to locate the accused Vipal Tailor, a native of Surat in Gujarat,” the police officer said.

“Based on the statement of the complainant, a case has been registered against the accused under Section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC),” he said, adding that police teams were also scanning CCTV cameras in the area for those listed crime sequence.
