Woman charged after child was attacked and injured by XL bully dog ​​in East Ayrshire

A woman has been charged after an XL bully dog ​​attacked three children in East Ayrshire.

Police Scotland said officers were alerted to the incident in the Holmhead Crescent area of ​​Logan at around 7.10pm on Wednesday.

Police said two 10-year-old children suffered minor injuries and did not require medical attention.

The XL bully dog ​​has been impounded and a 34-year-old woman has been charged in connection with the incident.

The incident comes after Holyrood introduced XL bullying protection measures in Scotland.

The first phase, modeled on legislation introduced in Westminster, comes into force on February 23.

This breed must be leashed and muzzled when out in public. It is also now illegal to sell, breed, abandon or give away these dogs.

The second phase, which comes into effect in August, will make it a criminal offense to own an unlicensed XL bully dog ​​without an exemption certificate.
