Vice President Kamala Harris reiterated her support for an “immediate” six-week ceasefire in Gaza on Monday and met with senior members of Israel’s war cabinet as the conflict approaches its fifth month. But analysts and protesters note that stopping the conflict depends on negotiations that will not be discussed by the Biden administration, and that a deal may not be reached by the deadline set by the White House for the start of Ramadan.
