'We have to stop BJP': UP Congress in-charge after seats are decided

Lucknow:

Congress state in-charge Avinash Pandey said that we will have to come together to stop the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

The Congress leader said that this decision is very important for the future of the state.

“This is a moment of joy where the decision taken by both the parties Congress and Samajwadi Party together is very important for the future of Uttar Pradesh. Despite having very less seats, we have accepted this challenge. If we have to stay then Pandey said, “BJP, we have to come together.”

In Uttar Pradesh, Samajwadi Party will contest elections on 63 seats and Congress on 17 seats.

SP leader Ravidas Mehrotra told ANI, “Samajwadi Party and Congress will contest the Lok Sabha elections together. This will strengthen the India alliance and India will form its government in 2024. Opposition parties will contest the elections together. We have tried to prevent disunity.” Of non-BJP votes.”

He said, “Samajwadi Party will contest on 63 seats and Congress on 17 seats. We will try to win all 80 seats in Uttar Pradesh.”

Meanwhile, party chief Akhilesh Yadav confirmed the alliance with the Congress and assured that details would be revealed soon. He said that there is no dispute between the two parties and everything will be clarified in time.

Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Mr Yadav said, “All is well that ends well. Yes, there will be an alliance. There is no dispute. Everything will become clear soon.”

Samajwadi Party and Congress are partners in the India Bloc. The success of seat-sharing talks between the two is significant, especially after the failure of such talks with West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, who has decided to contest the elections alone in her state.

Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav had made his participation in Congress’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra conditional on the decision on seat sharing, saying that he would join it when seats are divided between the two parties for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Will go.

Speaking to reporters on Monday, Mr Yadav said, “Talks are going on now, lists have come from their side as well as from our side, as soon as the seat distribution and decision is taken, the Samajwadi Party will join the Congress’ Nyay Yatra. “

The SP chief can now join the yatra in Moradabad in western UP on 24-25 February.

Speaking about the importance of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, Mr Yadav said, “The 2024 election is important. This is an election to save the Constitution and save the future of the country, to save Ganga-Jamuni Tehzeeb, to save brotherhood.”
