“We have full support of PM Modi”: US State Department spokesman Tami Bruce

US State Department spokesman Tami Bruce said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had received full support from the Trump administration, saying that he is in constant communication with the governments of India and Pakistan after the Pahilgam terror attack.

Speaking at the press briefing on Friday, Bruce said that the US was closely monitoring the situation.

The State Department spokesperson cited talks with US State Secretary Marco Rubio on Thursday with Foreign Minister S Jaishankar and Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif.

“We are closely monitoring. Yesterday, the secretary spoke with Foreign Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif. President Donald Trump expressed Prime Minister Modi last week, strong with India is strong against terrorism, and Prime Minister Modi has full support,” he said.

“The Secretary encouraged the two countries to work towards a responsible solution that maintains a responsible resolution that maintains long -term peace and regional stability in South Asia. We are in touch with the governments of both countries, as I have mentioned, at many levels,” he said.

Asked if the calls for de-escation are being noted, Bruce said, “We are asking both sides for a responsible resolution. And moreover, there is nothing that I can give you, no other details.”
