Kaziranga, Assam:
Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited elephants and jeeps in Assam’s Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve this morning, an official said.
During his maiden visit to the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Prime Minister Modi first went on an elephant safari in the Mihimukh area of the Kohola range in the center of the park and later on a jeep safari in the same range.
He was accompanied by park director Sonali Ghosh and other senior forest officials.

The Prime Minister arrived in Kaziranga on Friday evening on a two-day visit to the state.
He is also scheduled to inaugurate the 125-foot-tall “Statue of Bravery” of legendary Ahom general Lachit Barphukan in Jorhat in the afternoon.
The Prime Minister will then proceed to Meleng Meteli Pothar in Jorhat district, where he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stones of central and state projects worth approximately Rs 18,000 crore.
He is also scheduled to speak at a public meeting at the same location.
