WATCH: Passengers board train unexpectedly as crowd closes train doors

The video sparked huge controversy on social media.

A video showing a train passenger breaking a carriage glass to gain entry has gone viral on social media, prompting a response from the Railway Protection Force (RPF). The video was posted on X by well-known user Ghar Ke Kalesh and has been viewed more than 2 million times. The caption of the photo said the name of the train was Kaifiyat Express and claimed that the glass was broken because passengers were unable to enter the carriage as it was crowded.

The video showed that the third carriage of the train was packed with people, with passengers standing in the vestibule area of the carriage. There is no room to move, so the door may not open.

People were seen running on the platform trying to get into their coaches. Suddenly, a man noticed a crack in the glass and asked a man sitting near the door to leave.

The two men covered their faces in time as the glass shattered, and a man stood on the platform and shouted, asking them to open the door.

They responded that the train was crowded and there was no room, but the man didn’t listen and broke the remainder of the glass. The men in the front office area sprang into action.

The video ends abruptly and it’s unclear whether the man was able to board the train. The post stated that the man had confirmed his ticket and was eager to get on the bus.

The news prompted a flood of comments, with users slamming trains for being overcrowded and claiming “rail conditions have deteriorated”.

Northern Railways also reacted to the video, asking the Rwanda Patriotic Front to investigate the matter. Patriotic Front Delhi branch responds Said they informed the inspector in Ghaziabad.

In the past few days, many videos of crowded trains have been exposed. Earlier this week, an X user posted a video in which his Suhaildev Superfast Express sleeper compartment was crowded with ticketless passengers.

In the video, the train carriage is packed with passengers sitting on the floor. The corridors of the train are also crowded, with little room to move around.
