The foreign secretary has held talks with Donald Trump in Florida to push for US support for Ukraine.

Lord Cameron met with Republican presidential candidates on Monday before traveling to Washington to appeal to Congress over the stalled aid package.

During a visit to the US capital, he will warn that Kyiv’s success in defeating Russia is “critical to the security of the United States and Europe” as he urges lawmakers across the Atlantic to approve “urgent” further aid to the country.

The Foreign Office said Lord Cameron would push for Ukraine to get the resources it needs to “hold the line” and “go on the offensive” in 2025.

He will meet with Blinken and congressional leaders to urge them to “change the narrative” on their support for Ukraine, while a multibillion-dollar aid package remains stalled on Capitol Hill.
