Hema Malini served as Mathura MP twice.

Mathura:

The BJP MP and third-time candidate from Mathura Mahmalini offered prayers at Vishram Ghat on the banks of the Yamuna river on Wednesday, a day before she is to file her nomination papers.

After the prayers, the veteran Hindi film actress told reporters that she would leave no stone unturned to ensure that the Yamuna is cleaned.

Hema Malini has served as Mathura MP twice (2014 and 2019) and is contesting from this constituency for the third time in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls.

Earlier, she had also prayed at the venue before filing her nomination papers.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is expected to accompany Hema Malini to file her nomination on Thursday, party sources said.

The last date for filing nomination papers in Mathura, the seat to be polled in the second phase of the seven-phase elections, is April 4.
