Anupamaa is one of the most popular shows on Indian television, and most of the actors who have been a part of the show have noted that it has been a good opportunity for their careers. Waqar Shaikh will be returning to television after years and he is all set to join the famous show. As per the current track of the show, he will play the role of the restaurant owner’s younger brother. Reportedly, his character will have a significant impact on the story.

Speaking to Pinkvilla, Waqar Shaikh said that he is happy to get the role in Anupamaa and is eager to see how the fans react. He is already receiving many calls and people are curious to know about his role in this initiative. Throwing some light on his role, the actor shared, “Well, I play Yashdeep in the show, who is from the USA. He is Yashpal’s younger brother and lives with his brother and mother. He has an army background but has now moved to America with his family.” He said that his character will be a strong support to the lead role played by Rupali Ganguly, as she faces new challenges.

However, it is a tough task for an actor to enter the show in between and share the screen with some of the lead actors. Waqar Sheikh said that there is some awkwardness as the rest of the team has already developed a good bond among themselves. However, he mentioned. “I am new to the show but have been in the industry for a long time, so I have known Rupali for many years, even Sudhanshu Pandey. I know Gaurav Khanna a little. Also, the show’s director Romesh Kalra is a good friend of mine; We started our career together. It was great to meet him and reconnect.” He revealed that he was supposed to be a part of another show under the same production house, but that project could not be completed, however, this is also a big opportunity.

Waqar Sheikh hopes to give a “fresh perspective” to the show and shared that he will not be affected by any negative criticism coming his way. Waqar Sheikh has been a part of many TV shows and films over the years, but he is most recognized for his role as Rashid Ahmed Khan in Qubool Hai.
