The most talked about incident in IPL since Sunday is the dismissal of Virat Kohli off the bowling of Harshit Rana in Kolkata. Kohli was caught and bowled by Harshit Rana in the match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kolkata Knight Riders. There is great ambiguity as to whether the ball was legal or not. Kohli was convinced that the full toss was a no-ball and the former RCB skipper even expressed his frustration by shouting at the umpire. After this action, Kohli has been fined 50 percent of the match fee.

Although Kohli went for a review, replays showed that the ball was diving and since Kohli was standing outside his crease, if he had stood in his normal batting position the ball would have dipped below his waist.

After the incident, former Indian cricket team star Mohammad Kaif took to Instagram to criticize the umpiring in IPL 2024.

He wrote in a post on Instagram, “Clear unplayable beamer got Kohli out and the ball passing under Dhoni’s bat was declared wide. Cameras, replays, technology but still such mistakes are happening. Bad umpiring. ” Virat Kohli also liked this post.
