Virat Kohli was furious after a controversial dismissal, the India star batsman told the crowd during Sunday’s IPL 2024 match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kolkata Knight Riders The referee expressed his dissatisfaction. In the third over of RCB’s innings, Harshit Rana slowly bowled a full toss and Kohli eventually took a direct catch back to the bowler. However, Kohli was convinced that the ball was above his waist and he quickly checked it. Replays showed that Kohli was standing just outside the crease and had Kohli been in his normal batting position, the ball would have sunk enough to end up below the waist. As a result, third umpire Michael Gough ruled against RCB in the case.

Kohli was visibly upset by the decision and the disappointment was evident on the star batsman’s face as he walked back to the dugout. RCB captain Faf du Plessis continued to discuss the decision with the umpires while Kohli also came before the umpires and argued with them over the decision.

The star batsman came back fuming and continued to say something before throwing his bat and gloves to the ground, hitting the Eden Gardens bin in the process.

Earlier, RCB bowlers once again had a disappointing day as KKR lost three wickets due to the power-hitting of Shreyas Iyer and Phil Salt, posting a total of 222 runs.
