Director Viji Thampi took to social media today to reveal the concept poster of his upcoming film Jai Sri Ram. Thampi aims to reach diverse audiences across India through this pan-India project. The poster depicts a figure in sacred garb pointing towards a temple with a collapsed flagpole.

Vishnu Vardhan is writing the script for Jai Sri Ram, while Pradeep Nair and Ravi Menon are producing under the banner Drishya Cine. The film’s creators are yet to reveal information about the cast and crew. This is the veteran director’s second film announcement in recent years. Earlier, he unveiled plans for a historical drama centered on the life of Velu Thampi Dalawa of the Travancore kingdom, to be directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran Sukumaran) starring.

Viji Thampi started his career as an assistant to Balachandra Menon. In 1988, he made his directorial debut with the film “David David”, starting his journey as an independent director. During his career, he directed a total of 28 films, including The Witness, Sooryyamanasam, Simhavalan Menon, Avittam Thirunaal Aarogya Sriman, Sathyameva Jayathe, Krithyam and Nadodi Mannan and other famous films. Thampi also showcased his acting talent in 18 films, some of which he directed himself.

Apart from his work in films, Viji Thampi has directed seven TV series such as Black and White on Asianet, Annie (television movie on Kairali TV), Amma (television movie on Amrita TV), Sree Krishna Leela on Asianet, Mahatma Gandhi Colony on Asianet, Devi Mahatmya on Asianet and Ayyappa Saranam on Amrita TV. He also appeared in the TV series Mask and served as a judge on Amrita TV’s Shreshtabharatha- Mahabharatha show.

Thampi serves as a member of the Thiruvananthapuram District Committee of the Central Board of Film Certification and serves as the National Advisor to the Kshetra Samrakshana Samithi of Kerala. Additionally, in 2021, he served as the Chairman of the Hindu Diocese of Kerala. Additionally, Thampi is also serving as a jury member for the 2022 National Film Awards Application Committee.
