A couple’s special day turned into a nightmare when the bride, who was decked out in her wedding finery for customs, was dragged away by her mother, brother and cousins ​​as she screamed and screamed and was kidnapped. Struggled to resist the attempt.

The dramatic incident was caught on camera and several people at the venue were trying to stop the bride’s family from dragging her out. In the video, the bride, wearing a yellow saree for a wedding ceremony, is dragged by her relatives as the groom’s family tries to intervene. Soon, a man throws some red powder at the protesters, which later turns out to be ground chili. The bride kicks and screams as she is dragged into the room. One of the men is seen jumping on him to catch him back as he falls to the ground. Another man then grabs the woman’s hand and pulls her to the floor as she cries and screams.

The incident occurred at Kadiyam in East Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh.

Gangavaram Sneha and Battina Venkatnandu met while pursuing a diploma in veterinary science at a college in Narasaraopet district of the state. They became friends, fell in love and got married on April 13 at the famous Durga temple in Vijayawada.

After the marriage, they went to Sri Venkatnandu’s house and his family elders decided to organize a formal ceremony on 21 April. Ms. Sneha’s family was also informed and invited.

While arrangements were going on at the venue, Ms Sneha’s mother and other relatives – identified as Padmavati, Charan Kumar, Chandu and Nakka Bharat, barged in, attacked people nearby with chilli powder and kidnapped her daughter. Tried to do it and take him away.

The groom, his family and his friends resisted and foiled the kidnapping attempt.

Veerababu, one of the groom’s relatives, has reportedly been seriously injured in the clash and has been admitted to the Rajamahendravaram Government Hospital.

His family has filed a case of criminal assault, attempt to kidnap and gold theft, Kadiyam Circle Inspector B Tulsidhar said.

Speaking about the incident, Ms Sneha said, “My mother, my brother and cousins ​​came and threw chilli powder on people nearby to try to kidnap me.”
