Former Karnataka chief minister and Congress leader Veerappa Moi hit out at JD(S) chief HD Deve Gowda and his son JDS-BJP candidate HD Kumaraswamy and said Congress supports the Gowda family The duo was a mistake.
Veerappa Moi said the Congress party supported and brought to power the most “undeserving” people as chief minister and prime minister of Karnataka.

Prior to this, HD Kumaraswamy claimed in ANI’s podcast that the Congress party treated JD (S) badly.
Discussing Deve Gowda’s political journey, HD Kumaraswamy said, “In 2018, Deve Gowda ji joined hands with the Congress Party. Hitting back at the Congress party’s remarks slamming the JD (S) for joining hands with the NDA and arguing that the party should write to the Election Commission and remove the word ‘Secular’ from the party’s name, HD Kumaraswamy said: ‘What?’ Secular? What is the meaning of ism? I would like to question the fact that the Congress party is abusing caste composition on a daily basis and they want to benefit from it for their own party. “
Karnataka, which has 28 Lok Sabha seats, will go to polls in two phases on April 26 and May 7.
In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the Congress and JD(S) jointly fought against the BJP. The BJP won a record 25 seats; the Congress and JD(S) won just one seat each.
The 2024 Lok Sabha elections will be held in seven phases starting from April 19.
The vote counting date is June 4th.
