'Used condoms, underwear': Staff talk about disgusting things seen on planes

A flight attendant has shocked the internet by revealing some of the “disgusting” things he’s seen during his 25-year career at a major US airline.

This anonymous crew member conducted a “Ask Me Anything” session on Reddit In it he details several NSFW (Not Safe for Work) stories.

Speaking about the most disgusting thing he’s ever seen on a plane, he said he saw “used condoms, dirty underwear (men’s and women’s) and used tampons.”

He also said that some disobedient passengers caused a lot of pressure on the flight attendants.

Recalling some of the incidents, the flight attendant said he would find someone trying to smoke in the toilet every week.

On the issue of drunken passengers causing trouble, he said he sees one case every six months.

“Not often. I said once every six months. But it also depends on which cities you fly to. In Las Vegas, for example, there are a lot of drunk people trying to board the plane,” he wrote on Reddit.

When a user asked if he had ever had sex with a passenger or co-worker on or after work, the attendant said: “‘Passengers, yes. Other crew members… I’ve had offers, but no.”

But the worst thing he ever experienced on the job was observing passengers “fighting, shitting or singing” in their seats.

During a fight, the passenger also tried to spit on him.

He added: “Unfortunately, flight attendant pay levels do little to ease the trauma of this situation – at least initially.”

When talking about the pros of their jobs, flight attendants highlighted travel perks, health care benefits, traveling to different cities and experiencing different things every day.

However, in his mind, being away from home for three days at a time and dealing with mean passengers was the biggest drawback.

“You have to maintain a good relationship with your spouse. You will miss some events, holidays, etc., but it depends on how you work it out, if you have kids at home, etc.,” he explains of the upcoming challenges with the job.

“Depends on the airline, but starting pay is usually around $24/flight hour. This does not include per diem, some will pay more if the flight is full or close to full, where you fly, etc. Maximum pay is After about 15 years, then it’s about $75/flight hour,” the flight attendant revealed.

When asked “one thing passengers can do to make your job easier/stress-free,” the user said, “Be honest and be nice. Say hi and ask how our day was .These are simple things.” ..Oh, chocolate works too. ”
