Israeli airstrikes hit a vehicle carrying United Nations observers in a Lebanese border town.

Two security sources said the missile landed outside the southern Lebanese border town of Lemesh Reuters.

It was unclear whether there were any casualties.

UNIFIL, the U.N. peacekeeping force in southern Lebanon, had no immediate comment.

Since the latest conflict in Gaza, there has been a wave of attacks along the Lebanese-Israeli border. The conflict began on October 7, when Hamas killed 1,200 Israeli citizens and kidnapped more than 250 others.

The Israel Defense Forces has repeatedly conducted air strikes against Hezbollah, the Lebanese armed group that expresses support for Hamas.

The Shia Islamist party and militant group, backed by Iran, has previously said it was “fully prepared” to join the war between Israel and Hamas.

In February, the IDF launched a wave of attacks on weapons depots near the Sidon region in southern Lebanon in response to Hezbollah drone attacks on Israel.

The war between Israel and Hamas has also spread to Syria, where a series of air strikes yesterday killed at least 42 people.

The Syrian Defense Ministry said the attack was Israel’s most violent attack on Syria in three years, killing civilians and military personnel.
