The Missouri Democratic Party has announced that U.S. President Joe Biden has won the Missouri primary.
Biden’s victory is beyond doubt. He has defeated his main rival. But the primary is still closely watched by insiders for turnout and signs of protesting voters.
Saturday’s primary is Missouri Democrats’ first partisan presidential contest since the new law took effect in August 2022.
The party said about 20,000 voters took part in the vote.
Missouri Republicans chose to hold their caucuses this year, which former President Donald Trump won.
Lawmakers have failed to revive state primaries despite calls from both state Republican and Democratic leaders.
