Adam Montgomery stuffed his daughter’s body into a tote bag and took it to work.

An American man beat his 5-year-old daughter to death and took her dismembered body parts to the restaurant where he worked, prosecutors say.

Adam Montgomery, of New Hampshire, stuffed her decomposed body into a tote bag and took it to work and other locations before dumping it like “yesterday’s trash,” the New York Post quoted them as saying. Her body was never found.

The court heard the 34-year-old defendant, who worked as a cook and dishwasher, left the body in the refrigerator next to food during his shift.

Christopher Knowles, prosecuting, said: “He regularly took it to work and stored it in the company’s fridge where food and ingredients were stored. People saw him taking it in and out. They couldn’t imagine that What’s in the bag.”

Harmony disappeared in 2019, but police didn’t learn about it until two years later.

Adam’s estranged wife, Kayla Montgomery, told police that Adam hit Harmony multiple times after she had two bathroom incidents in the family’s car. The family has been living in their car since they were evicted from their home.

Then he started driving, eating, and taking drugs while the helpless girl moaned in the back seat. Knowles said the couple found her dead hours later when their car broke down.

According to prosecutors, Adam even hid his daughter’s body in the trunk of a friend’s car, in a cooler and freezer at his mother-in-law’s house, and in ceiling vents at a homeless shelter.

He then bought a saw and blades and rented a moving truck to dispose of the body, believing he would run away if the body was not found, they said.

Adam is currently serving a sentence of more than 30 years in prison on weapons charges. In 2022, he pleaded not guilty to killing his daughter, abusing a corpse, assaulting and tampering with witnesses, and accused his wife of lying to protect himself.

Kayla was sentenced to 18 months in prison for lying under oath.
