A 22-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of raping a three-year-old girl in the village, police said on Tuesday.

Superintendent of Police Neeraj Kumar Jadaun said the incident took place on Monday night when the accused, named Ankit, allegedly approached the children playing near her house and took her to an empty room on the pretext of giving her toffee. in the house.

He then allegedly raped her inside the house. The girl’s sister came looking for the victim and saw Ankit fleeing the scene, police said. He said the girl’s sister raised the alarm following which locals gathered and accosted the accused.

On being informed, a police team rushed to the spot and arrested the accused, he added. The girl has been sent for medical examination, the SP said.
