On Wednesday, the Ukrainian military used drones to attack a Russian oil refinery, damaging a site in the Ryazan region.

Pavel Markov, the governor of the Ryazan region, said that according to initial reports, a local oil refinery was attacked, causing a fire and injuring many people.

Officials in the Leningrad region said Russian air defenses shot down a Ukrainian drone approaching an oil refinery without causing any damage.

The attacks were part of a wave of Ukrainian drones launched into Russian territory for the second day in a row.

Alexander Gusev, the governor of the Voronezh region that borders Ukraine, said on Wednesday that air defense systems shot down more than 30 Ukrainian drones during the night.

On Tuesday, Ukrainian drones damaged two Russian fuel stations.

Ukrainian officials said a Russian missile hit a residential building in the city center of Krivoy Rog on Tuesday, killing at least three people and injuring at least 38 others.

The attack on the building was one of three missiles that struck the city, said Alexander Verkul, head of the military administration in Krivorog, President Volodymyr Zelensky’s Hometown is also a frequent target of Russian attacks.

Zelensky expressed his condolences on social media and thanked rescue workers for their assistance.

“Our cities and villages suffer similar attacks every day. Ukraine loses people every day to Russia’s evil,” he wrote. “It is impossible to stop, for a day, a week, let alone a month, to support the defense of life and save people from horror.”
