Trump ally warns ex-POTUS' arrest could be 'plane crash' for Biden -

Donald Trump’s self-predicted arrest could be a “plane crash” for Joe Biden’s Democrats, an ally to the ex-POTUS has told The 76-year-old property-tycoon-turned-politician yesterday warned he would be arrested on Tuesday as he urged his supporters to launch mass protests. The former President’s comments appear to have been well-received by some of his allies.

A 2020 Trump campaign veteran told “There is a saying in the south – ‘Keep your powder dry’.

“The Manhattan District Attorney is trying to fly a plane without wings.

“It’s going to be really, really, really bad when this plane crashes for the Democrats.”

However, another former Trump insider voiced some concern about the ex-POTUS’s comments to encourage protest if he is arrested.

“I suppose he doesn’t have a very good record with that,” they said.

Trump previously encouraged supporters to march down to the Capitol when Congress was verifying the result of the 2020 US Presidential Election.

Daniels, 44, claimed she had sex with Trump and that she accepted $130,000 (£100,000) from his former lawyer Michael Cohen before the 2016 election in exchange for her silence on the encounter.

Cohen, once known as Trump’s “fixer”, pleaded guilty to a federal charge relating to the payment in 2018.

The 56-year-old also alleged Trump ordered him to pay the hush money and that it was for the “principal purpose of influencing” the 2016 vote.

Despite renewed legal pressure, Trump is expected to continue to campaign for the Grand Old Party’s 2024 nomination irrespective of whether he is indicted.

A Trump spokesperson yesterday told that the ex-POTUS is the victim of a “witch-hunt”.

They added: “President Trump is rightfully highlighting his innocence and the weaponisation of our injustice system.

“He will be in Texas next weekend for a giant rally. Make America Great Again!”

The former Commander-in-Chief, who launched his third successive White House campaign last November, previously faced two impeachment trials, a probe into Russian interference and a raid at his home in Mar-a-Lago in search for classified documents.

Previous attempts to investigate Trump appear to have only emboldened his support with MAGA Republicans.

A recent Quinnipiac University opinion poll conducted between March 9 and March 13 suggested Trump remains the frontrunner in the looming Republican race.

The ex-POTUS received 46 percent support in a crowded field, with Florida Governor Ron DeSantis in second on just 32 percent.

Opinion polls also suggest Trump could become just the second President to serve two non-consecutive terms in the Oval Office.
