A Beechcraft aircraft, apartments and properties worth over Rs 29 crore in Himachal Pradesh, Haryana and Madhya Pradesh belonging to the Alchemist group headed by former TMC MP KD Singh have been seized under anti-money laundering laws. said Saturday.

The investigation involves a batch of FIRs registered by the CBI, Uttar Pradesh Police and West Bengal Police, alleging that the organization had collected funds worth over Rs 1,800 crore from the public through its companies, including Alchemist Holdings Limited and Alchemist Township India Limited. In addition to high investment interest, there are also “false promises” of high returns and free apartments, villas, and plots of land.

The ED said in a statement that the properties, which have been provisionally attached under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), include a Beechcraft King Air C90A aircraft located in Shimla and Sirmaur districts of Himachal Pradesh and flats and land in Katni district of Madhya Pradesh. .

The agency said Alchemist Realty Ltd purchased a total of 18 apartments in the Parsvnath Royale project in Panchkula, Haryana, and purchased land for around 250 bigha and 78 bigha in Shimla (rural) and Keonthal in Sirmaur.

The Alchemist Group is led by Kanwar Deep Singh, a former Rajya Sabha member of the Trinamool Congress (TMC). The total value of the attached properties is Rs 29.45 crore.

The Ministry of Education claimed that according to the investigation, funds from public investors were never returned and that the funds were “siphoned off and transferred” to various companies in the Alchemist group.

It is alleged that the Alchemist Group listed a number of companies in a number of sectors to acquire properties through false promises of criminal proceeds from investors.

“Alchemy Group purchased large amounts of land in the name of third parties to disguise and conceal the true ownership of these properties,” the central investigative agency said.
