Ottawa – In the Canada Post, the workers started voting on the latest contract proposal of Crown Corporation today.
The Canadian Association of Post Workers has urged them to reject the proposal.
The Canada Post is in a deadlock with the union representing around 55,000 postal service workers after one year and one and a half dialogues.
Federal Job Minister Patty Hazdu asked the Canadian Industrial Relations Board to take steps and keep the latest proposal of Crown Corporation for one vote.
The proposal involves an increase of wages of about 13 percent in four years, but also adds that Part-Time Workers Canada Post says that the postal service is necessary to preserve.
Union’s national president Jan Simpson has said that a strong vote will not only reject the proposal, but will also protect the integrity of the bargaining process.
