Tension in UP city after 2 children murdered at home

Angry locals set a shop on fire following an incident in Uttar Pradesh’s Budaun.

Lucknow:

Two children were brutally murdered at their home in the Uttar Pradesh city, sparking tension in the region. A man allegedly slit the throats of two brothers after breaking into their home tonight.

Police said the two brothers, aged 12 and 8, were playing on the patio of their home when the incident occurred.

Following the incident, angry locals set a shop on fire at Budaun Baba Colony under Mandi Samiti police station. Police said the situation is now under control.

The defendant was killed during a confrontation after trying to shoot at police.

The motive for the attack is currently unclear.

Budaun District Magistrate Manoj Kumar said police received information about the crime and subsequent protests by locals. He called on people to maintain peace.
