A 21-year-old youth was stabbed to death in a metro train on the Delhi-Jaipur Expressway after two friends clashed over their relationship, police said on Monday.

According to police, the victim Akash, a native of Begusarai in Bihar, lived with his cousin in a rented house in Rupa village in Nahapur. He is preparing for competitive exams.

According to the complaint filed by Suraj, his cousin was stabbed by Akash’s school friend Krishna in the metro on Sunday.

Quoting the complainant, police said Akash was part of a group of people who had gone to the metro to resolve a quarrel over his love affair with Krishna, who came there with about 10 of his own youths and launched the attack.

“I reached there after some time and saw Akash’s friends trying to escape. Krishna and his friends started throwing stones at us and some of them hit us.

According to police, Suraj said in the complaint: “Meanwhile, two of Krishna’s friends caught my brother and Krishna stabbed him many times with a sharp knife and ran away. “

Akash was taken to a nearby hospital in a rickshaw where doctors declared him dead, police said.

Krishna and his associates were arrested late on Sunday night at the Sector 37 police station under sections 147 (rioting), 148 (unlawful assembly), 302 (murder) and Arms Act of the IPC, police said. An FIR was registered.

On Monday, police arrested Krishna and two others, both named Sachin, in connection with the murder.

Krishna is originally from Sainik Colony in Faridabad and lives in Gurgaon.

Police said that of the other two, Sachin alias Karu is a resident of Udyahera village in Udaipur, Rajasthan, while Sachin hails from Usmapur village in Rewari district of Haryana.

Police are interrogating the accused and will produce them in the municipal court tomorrow, a senior police officer said.

Probation sub-inspector Krishan Kumar, who is investigating the matter, had earlier said Akash’s body has been handed over to his relatives after post-mortem.
