National Conference chief spokesperson and MLA Zadibal, Tanveer Sadiq, said in a strong report on Sunday that senior party leader Agh Ruhulla Mehdi went out of the party’s recent functioning committee meeting, “fabricated, baseless and politically inspired.”
Sadiq said that Dr. The meeting headed by Farooq Abdullah was held in a cordial atmosphere and a meaningful participation was seen from all members including Aga Ruhulla.
Sadiq said, “Aga Ruhullah did not stage any walkout. He was present during the discussion, and everything was transported in a healthy and respectable environment,” Sadiq said. “He left only after informing both Dr. Farooq Abdullah and Omar Abdullah, due to a personal emergency involving a sick relative. He took appropriate permission before exiting the meeting, and this happened well before any such misleading reports surfaced.”
Sadiq alleged that the rumors were deliberately spread by some vested interests, demanding confusion and weakening the image of the party at an important time, when Nekan took a firm and a firm and united stand on the special status of Jammu and Kashmir and the restoration of the entire state.
He said, “We passed seven important proposals, demanding the restoration of one Article 370 and the full state. The entire working committee including Aga Ruhulla Saheb unanimously supported these proposals,” he said. “Some people are clearly unresolved by the clarity of our unity and purpose, and are resorting to wrong information to distract the public.”
Sadiq highlighted the outreach at the continuous grassroots level of the national conference, referring to the party’s practice of organizing cabinet-style meetings in various regions of Jammu and Kashmir.
He said, “This is the rule at the door. The national conference is always closely associated with the people – in Pahgam, Gulmarg or any other area,” he said.
He said, “While other parties are limited behind the closed doors, the neck is actively attached to the people and passing the resolution for their welfare,” he said.
Tanveer Sadiq urged both the public and the media not to be victims of “motivated publicity” and confirmed that the national conference is united, focused and firm in his political commitments. (KNS)
