Expanding on his pioneering Super 30 initiative, renowned mathematician Anand Kumar says he will soon launch a new online platform to bring education to the doorsteps of India’s poor students.

Addressing the Kellogg India Business Conference 2024 on the theme ‘Reimagining India: Shaping the Global Economic Landscape’, Mr. Kumar said now is the time to leverage existing technology to reach more students.

“It is time to embrace the technology available to reach more and more students. Super 30 has helped the poor transform their lives and many successful students have indeed brought about a generational shift due to the power of education,” he said Mr. Kumar Attend an event organized by Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.

He said: “A new online education platform is about to be launched, bringing education to the doorsteps of poor people.”

Insisting that the disruption caused by the pandemic has taught him a lot, Mr Kumar said he had stayed in touch with students stuck at home through social media, highlighting how one can learn a lot from adversity.

“The world is full of talented people. Even in the current situation, there are still many children who are hidden from the world’s view because of poverty. They have the ability to become Newton and Ramanujan, but maybe their talent is because of lack of My online program aims to provide them with a platform to stand out,” he added.

Mr Kumar said his dream was to make education accessible to every poor student. “The poorest people deserve quality education too. It’s time to step out of the lab and experience the poverty of countries and villages where people don’t even have electricity, clean water and proper food. The time is now, the technology has arrived “It’s also possible to connect with the poor in any area,” he said.

Mr Kumar said the best use of technology was to ensure access to opportunities for the poor as it was the responsibility of society.

“I am not a big shot, just an ordinary teacher, but today, I use my feelings and my experience to tell you from the bottom of my heart that if you have a strong desire for a certain goal and keep working hard, you may be better than It takes more time as you imagine, but success will definitely come,” Mr. Kumar said.
