Abhishek Rana, son of disqualified Congress MP Rajinder Rana, said he received threatening calls on Tuesday night, while his father’s office also received a threatening letter letter.
According to sources, during the 26-second long call, the caller allegedly threatened Abhishek Rana and told him that what he was doing was not right.
Abhishek Rana said he had lodged a complaint with Sujanpur police station.
In this regard, Deputy Superintendent of Police Rajesh Sharma said, “Abhishek Rana informed us over the phone last night that threats were received at Sujanpur police station. A written complaint was received Later, the police will take action on the matter.”
Meanwhile, Abhishek Rana accused the state government of indulging in pressure politics and said action was being taken against MLAs who raised voices against the government.
Earlier, Rajinder Rana termed the Himachal Pradesh Assembly Speaker’s disqualification of MLAs as “unconstitutional”.
Rajinder Rana said: “The speaker took this decision so quickly and the way it was implemented was unconstitutional and the entire state and the entire country know how much pressure it was taken. The decision was taken very quickly. It will be announced.”
Himachal Pradesh Assembly Speaker Kuldeep Singh Patanya on Thursday disqualified six Congress MLAs who had cross-voted in the Lok Sabha polls.
The six MLAs who have been disqualified are Sudhir Sharma, Rajinder Rana, Davinder K Bhutto, Ravi Thakur, Chaitanya Sharma and Inder Dutt Lakhanpal.
