Some Apple Watch Series 9 and Ultra 2 devices allegedly affected by ‘Ghost Touch’ issue: report

Apple Watch Series 9 and Ultra 2 are the latest smartwatches launched by Apple to consumers, launched in September last year along with the iPhone 15 series. While these watches are popular, some users have recently expressed concerns about potential “ghost touch” issues affecting some Series 9 and Ultra 2 watches.

The alleged memo, seen by MacRumors, quotes Apple as saying: “Some customers may report false touches on the display of their Apple Watch Series 9 or Apple Watch Ultra 2.” According to the report, these touches were detected by users Called a “ghost” touch.

Furthermore, the report adds that Apple users have also described their Apple Watches as “jumping erratically” and acting strangely without any user input. This might even extend to the Apple Watch automatically trading contacts and troublesome users to add a device passcode to unlock it.

MacRumors further adds that Apple recommends keeping the software updated, suggesting that the issue may be resolved with an upcoming WatchOS update.

At this time, it’s unclear how soon affected users will receive the update and how widespread the issue actually is. However, in the meantime, Apple has allegedly asked repair partners not to fix the issues until they complete their investigation.
