Union Minister Smriti Irani slams Congress MP Rahul Gandhi for “double standards” and says the Veyand MP expressed solidarity with Arvind Kejriwal’s family while in Telangana , he alleged that the Delhi Chief Minister was “corrupt”.

Union Minister Smriti Irish said: “I want to prove how Rahul Gandhi rolls the dice in different ways on the same subject. On July 2, 2023, he Telangana says KCR is also corrupt, there was a liquor incident. Scam, all agencies know about it… Ajay Maken had said that AAP used corrupt funds to defeat Congress in Goa elections. So who is telling the truth?

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was on Friday remanded to the custody of the Enforcement Directorate for seven days, i.e. till March 28, when he was arrested by the probe agency in connection with the Delhi Excise Policy case in connection with the money laundering case the next day.

The Raus Avenue court in Delhi on Friday sent Chief Minister Kejriwal to the custody of the education ministry in a money laundering case related to the alleged GST policy scam.

“Today we learned in detail how a man who held a constitutional position and acted with integrity abused the machinery of administration through the conduct of Arvind Kejriwal to define corruption…” Ms Irani said.

“Which one is the real face of Rahul Gandhi? The one who spoke in Telangana or the one who was in Delhi?” the Union minister asked during a press conference for a little over 38 minutes.

Earlier, on the eve of the Telangana Assembly elections, Rahul Gandhi claimed that the BJP has close ties with the RSS as even though the ruling party at the Center is aware of former chief minister Chandrashekhar Rao’s daughter Kavita’s daughter is involved in Delhi liquor scam and no action has been taken against her yet.

Smriti Irani also reminded the Congress to write to the Delhi Police accusing the Aam Aadmi Party of running the Delhi liquor scam.

“Congress writes to Delhi Police on June 3, 2022, regarding liquor scam. Which one is telling the truth? The previous one or the one we are seeing today? Ajay Maken had said that AAP used corrupt funds to defeat the fruit A Congress Party in an election. So who is telling the truth? Rahul or Delhi in Telangana? Their spokesperson then or their current spokesperson? Ms. Irani asked.

Ms Irani hit out at the Delhi Chief Minister over the liquor policy case, saying: “Today we learned how a man who holds a constitutional position and has done so with integrity, through the conduct of Arvind Kejriwal Abuse of administrative machinery defines corruption.”

Ms. Irani also pointed out that when it was alleged in court that the now-defunct Delhi liquor policy was formulated by a select group of liquor barons under AAP chief-appointed Vijay Nair, Arvind Arvind Kejriwal’s lawyer did not object.

“When the facts were presented before the court today, Arvind Kejriwal’s counsel did not object to the fact that some specific liquor companies had formulated liquor policies under the leadership of Vijay Nair, who was appointed by Arvind Kejriwal,” the Union Minister said.
