Billy Ray Cyrus is reportedly trying to mend his relationship with pop star daughter Miley Cyrus amid their ongoing disagreements. However, Flowers singer Miley doesn’t seem interested in reconnecting with her father. According to Us Weekly, the 62-year-old country singer has tried to reach out to Miley multiple times and even congratulated her on her two Grammy wins earlier this month. Still, Miley seemed to have no interest in reconciling, and she specifically excluded him from her acceptance speech.

“The children have chosen sides, but friends hope the rift won’t last forever,” the outlet reported.

In August 2023, Miley’s younger siblings Noah Cyrus and Braison Cyrus decided not to attend their mother Tish’s wedding with Dominic Purcell ’s wedding, despite being invited, rumors of a feud within the Cyrus family ensued.

“It’s no secret that they both dislike Dominic, which has caused tension in their relationship with their mom,” Us Weekly tells us.

Tish officially filed for divorce from Billy Ray in April 2022 after 28 years of marriage, saying “there’s nothing to say and they both hold a grudge.” They reportedly didn’t talk.

Tish has since gone on to star in Prison Break, while Billy Ray is engaged to Australian singer Firerose, who is 27 years his junior, and they will marry in October 2023.

“After the divorce, the family dynamic changed, and now that Tish and Billy Ray are with someone else, they’re even more divided. Miley hasn’t gotten over Billy Ray’s resentment of Tish and his family. Respect, “although the exact circumstances of this disrespect are unclear,” Page Six reported.

Tish recently hinted at the disrespect on Alex Cooper’s Call Her Dad podcast, saying she encountered “all forms of disrespect” during her marriage to Billy Ray .

“Disrespect can show up in so many ways. I didn’t know until I was in a new relationship that there was so much respect out there – how much disrespect there was in my previous marriage. Honestly, for both of us, “she says.

Tish also revealed that she and Billy Ray have been separated since 2020. Tish stayed in Los Angeles during the pandemic, while Billy Ray was in Tennessee.

“I couldn’t eat. I couldn’t sleep. I couldn’t stop crying. I literally weighed 130 pounds,” she recalled. “I don’t have my mom, and I don’t have my husband, who’s been my husband for 30 years. I’m scared,” she added to Page Six.

However, as of now, Billy Ray and Miley Cyrus have yet to comment or make an official statement regarding these issues.
