Union Minister Anurag Thakur on Thursday lashed out at Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who has been accused of corruption over the liquor policy scam. and was imprisoned in prison. .

“When Arvind Kejriwal’s party commits corruption…should there be a separate law for him, for AAP? His (former) deputy chief minister has been in jail for nearly 18 months (referring to Manish Sisodia, who was arrested in February last year ) years)…but Kejriwal gave a ‘clean record’?”

“Should we listen to him or the investigating agency,” Thakur asked.

Speaking at NDTV’s ‘Youth for Change’ conclave, Mr Thakur also lashed out at the Congress after it hit out at the government over the Income Tax Department’s demand of Rs 100 crore.

The party, which joined AAP in attacking the BJP over Kejriwal’s arrest, called the demand an “attack on democracy” and said it prevented them from funding their campaigns.

“Does this law also not apply to the Congress party? In India, political parties do not pay income tax…but they have to file tax returns. Is the Congress party so incompetent that it cannot even do this?” he asked .

“Then you have a man (back to Mr Kejriwal) who says he will fight corruption… and then his party gets involved in corruption. Who should we believe? The law or them?” he claimed.

Mr Thakur also dismissed allegations by the Congress, AP and other opposition parties that the BJP used agencies like the Enforcement Directorate (which arrested Kejriwal) and the Central Bureau of Investigation, as well as tax officials, to harass rivals, especially It was before the election.
