Shark Tank India is one of the most talked about business reality shows and its third season certainly lives up to its name. The new season gets even more exciting with the addition of 12 sharks. Shark Tank India has captivated viewers from the beginning with its unusual premise, in which aspiring entrepreneurs pitch their ideas to possible investors. After the entrepreneur makes his proposal, the sharks begin negotiating. But in the latest episode, one candidate gets the exact same deal as hers, and it has something to do with Bollywood.

A recent episode of Shark Tank India Season 3 featured an independent founder receiving the exact deal she wanted, which is unusual on the show. Simran Khara is the founder of Koparo, a brand that sells sustainable, plant-based household cleaning products. The highlight of this product is that it uses coconut as the main ingredient. Simran said she came up with her product idea after noticing a huge gap in the market for natural cleaning solutions during the Covid-19 pandemic. The concept attracted all the sharks in the group who started making offers.

The founders demanded Rs 70 lakh to acquire 1% stake in the company. After reviewing the company’s financials, Anupam Mittal was the first to propose a deal worth Rs 70 lakh for 1.23 per cent, which he later revised to 1.6 per cent. Simran was not happy with the proposal. Soon after, Aman Gupta stepped in and mentioned Kajol’s character Simran in Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayange. He said, “Simran ji, ek toh DDLJ ke baad Simran ji bolne ka bada mann kar raha tha. (Simran ji, after DDLJ, I want to call you Simran ji.) The founder seemed impressed with the offer Aman Gupta had to offer interested and seemed impressed with his marketing strategy. She said, “Aman main aapko chadha nahi rahi hun par jaise aap digitally Native Brand Building jaante hain na, mujhe nahi lagta aise koi… (Aman, I am not praising you , but you know how to build a local brand digitally, I don’t think there is anyone better than him)”. Aman Gupta was convinced and said: “Yahi sunne ki main wait kar raha tha ( I’m waiting to hear this).

Since Simran is a solo founder, she wanted the support of a business partner who could further guide her. Finally, Aman Gupta and Vineeta Singh offered her the exact deal she was looking for.
