Shakira says ‘it’s a man’s turn’ to cry after split from Gerard Pique

Shakira says it’s “men’s turn to cry” as she celebrates the success of her new album Women, stop crying.

The Colombian singer released her first new album in seven years on March 22, 2024.

Notably, the musician also appeared to accuse her former partner Gerard Piqué of being unfaithful to her on the set of her twelfth studio album.

“I release songs here and there, but it’s hard for me to put the work together,” Shakira shared.

The music icon added, “It’s the husband. Now I don’t have a husband. Yes, the husband was holding me back. Now I’m free. Now I can actually work.”

Shakira says that for too long, women have been forced to cry. She continued, “We have to hide our pain from our children, from society.”

She further shared, “We have to heal somehow. I don’t think anyone should tell us how to heal. No one should tell a she-wolf how to lick her wounds.”

It is worth mentioning here that the 46-year-old singer separated from Gerard in June 2022, and Gerard was accused of being unfaithful to the singer.

The former couple have two sons together: Milan, 11, and Sasha, 9.
