Security of our people is the top priority of the government: Surinder Chaudhary

After the recent cross border shelling, Deputy Chief Minister, Surinder Chaudhary made a wide visit to the border areas in the Natsera subdivision of Rajouri district.

During his visit, the Deputy Chief Minister visited the damaged houses, inspected the damage due to shelling, met the affected families in addition to interacting with the border residents at various places.

During the conversation, he assured that the government stands firmly with them at the time of the need of this hour and actively gather resources and efforts to ensure that they do not face any inconvenience. He also assured that the safety of every resident living near LOC is our biggest priority and the best possible measures are being taken in this regard.

During a broader tour, the dye CM fulfilled several delegations at various places, in which local residents apprised them of various issues, which were mainly related to the construction of individual and community bunkers, recently compensated for their losses during cross border firing, water shortage, under -prescribed power cuts, link roads etc.

The DI CM gave the spot instructions to the concerned authorities to resolve their grievances and assured them that all their other real issues would be redressed in a phased manner.

In a step to protect life and livelihood, Dye CM also assured that additional individual and community bunkers would be constructed at strategic places based on the requirements identified. “These bunkers will provide immediate protection during examples of cross-border shelling and are an important component of the administration’s border security strategy,” he said.

The visit outlined the government’s unwavering commitment to the safety, security and welfare of the people living in the border belt.

Among other people, Additional Deputy Commissioner Novashera Pritam Lal Thapa and other district and regional officials were with the dye CM during their visit.
