Shawn Levy, director dead Pool and Wolverinerecently publicly stated that Marvel movies will no longer be called Deadpool 3.

“In terms of production dead Pool and Wolverine Story, I feel honored every day that you’re talking about two of the biggest movie stars in the most iconic roles,” the filmmaker said.

Levy told the media, “This also gives me an opportunity. This is the third dead Pool movie, but not Deadpool 3“.

“It’s a very different thing dead Pool and Wolverine. It’s not trying to imitate anything from the first two movies,” he continued.

Levy noted, “They’re great, but this is a two-character adventure.”

In addition, the director noted that the new film “will be rough, it will be funny, and ultimately it will hopefully create a great time for the audience in the theater.”

Levy noted that early screenings of the film were “very, very promising.”

“I wouldn’t say there are any big surprises, but you get a sense that the pace wants to pick up, and you get a sense that you can slow down and have deeper, more sustained character moments,” he added.

Meanwhile, Levy’s new film is set to hit theaters on July 26, with Rhett Reese, Paul Wernick, Zeb Wells, Reynolds and Levy serving as co-writers.
