Samsung Galaxy Watch FE could launch soon as a rebranded version of the watch

According to reports, the Samsung Galaxy Watch FE will be launched soon. The South Korean tech group may soon launch a “Fan Edition” (FE) version of its Galaxy Watch smartwatch, which runs on Google’s Wear OS operating system. It is expected to be priced lower than the company’s recently launched smartwatch models, and its specifications are said to be similar to older Galaxy Watch models. The Galaxy Watch FE may debut before July, when Samsung is expected to launch the Galaxy Watch 7 series.

According to reports, model number SM-R866F is a global model, while model numbers SM-R866U and SM-R866N refer to the US and Korean markets respectively. According to the publication, the Galaxy Watch FE will launch at a “budget-friendly price.”

The Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 model number SM-R860F launched in August 2021 is very similar to the alleged Galaxy Watch FE model. This suggests it could be an affordable smartwatch running Wear OS and powered by the Exynos W920 chip.

Details of the so-called Galaxy Watch FE have yet to surface online, including its hardware specs and pricing. The smartwatch will likely debut as Samsung’s most affordable wearable, running Wear OS and using a Galaxy Watch 4 design. Apple’s Watch SE models follow a similar strategy, offering fewer features at a more affordable price.

Samsung has not yet revealed plans to launch a new Galaxy Watch FE model, but the company is expected to launch the device in the coming weeks, if at all. According to previous reports, the Korean company plans to launch three Galaxy Watch 7 models, the next-generation smartwatch, as well as the next-generation foldable phone at its next Galaxy Unpacked event, which is said to be held in July.
